Briko Helmets: A lifestyle ahead
of the rest.
Going onto the snow in total safety is the number one goal at the basis of
the design of all Briko helmets. Formulated together with the
champions in order to meet all of their requirements in addition to
safety, comfort, internal ventilation and aerodynamics, Briko Safety
Program helmets are designed for the widest variety of disciplines, from
alpine skiing to snowboarding and to freeriding. Helmets for heads
that think young, that love adventure and competition. Their design is
proof that, with shapes, graphics and colors that are at the top, in
perfect Briko style. Outstanding high technology, made with
manufacturing processes and newly conceived materials so as to offer
maximum protection. A ski helmet's duty consists in reducing the
impact capacity transmitted to the head, diverting or contrasting the
penetration of blunt instruments and staying in position because they
should not come off the head. It is just as important that comfort
be ensured. The physiology of the human head should be reproduced
in order to succeed in this operation, and this is why Briko helmets are
made up of three layers: a hard external cap, an intermediate supporting
shell and internal padding.
Layer 1: The external cap should
smooth and distribute the high concentration of energy on a surface
which should be as extended as possible. Composite material:
Manual protection process by layering sheets of carbon and fiber.
Offers exceptional performance in terms of resistance and absorption of
the energy produced during impact. Polycarbonate/ABS: Automatic
production process by molding and injection. Offers excellent
performance in terms of resistance and absorption of the energy produced
during impact. ABS: Offers high performance in terms of
resistance and absorption of the energy produced during impact.
Layer 2: The intermediate supporting shell should compress in order
to absorb the impact energy. Polystyrene Foam: Production
process carried out by molding controlled density polystyrene granules.
Exceptional capability to absorb energy in the event of impact.
Excellent weight/absorption capability ratio. Polystyrene foam
with channels: Production process carried our by molding
controlled density polystyrene granules with molds providing channels
and internal holes, which allows air circulation in the helmet.
Strap connection: Quick release buckle made in composite material
(metal block) or bayonet hook-up buckle made in thermoplastic material
(fiber block).
Layer 3: The internal padding should improve wearability and
compensate any size variations. Maxi Dry Gold: Production
process carried out using anatomic and shaping constructions consisting
of peripheral edging sewn onto the external section plus a vent in
the ear area. Top of the line fabrics with exceptional qualities
of transportation and lightness with anallergic and anitbacterial
treatment layered to flexible polyurethane foams. Maxi Dry:
Production process carried out using simple anatomic and shaping
constructions with vent in the ear are. Top of the line fabrics
with exceptional qualities of transpiration and lightness with
antibacterial treatment layered to flexible polyurethane foams.
Homologation tests encourage us to
improve: Briko helmets are produced only after they pass difficult
homologation tests. What's more is that the polystyrene supporting
shell even anticipated the European regulations on impact energy
absorption capacity. Homologation is required for all those
helmets that are indicated for "fast" winter sports. It deals with
resistance of the materials and the functional components which have to
undergo harsh trials. Dimensional tests are then performed in
order to ascertain the helmet's perfect adaptability to the athlete's
head, ensuring the minimum areas are protected and that there is an
optimal visual angle.
CE-FISI approval: Briko helmets
comply with the European EN.1077 CE and ASTM USA regulation.
According to this regulation the helmets are subject to laboratory tests
and routine trials on the production.
Venting System:
Sliding Micrometric Aerator: Upper sliding micrometric aerator that
permits perfect adjustment of the self-circulating air flow in the
helmet. Through the aerator's micrometric adjustment, together
with the channels inside the polystyrene, actual air recirculation is
created inside the cap with relative withdrawal of hot air through the
cap's rear holes. Exceptional thermal comfort inside the helmet.
Sliding aerator: Upper aerator that is adjustable in two positions
to let air enter into the helmet. Assure internal ventilation to
help air recirculation, maintaining ideal thermal comfort inside the
helemet.
Lateral aerator: Adjustable aerator. Accessory made in
thermoplastic material, positioned on the external cap at the ear level
and equipped with a dual-position adjustment system.
Fixed aerator: Accessory made in polycarbonate, positioned on the
external cap at ear level and equipped with a system made up of holes
and ducts.
Integrated aerator: Fixed openings positioned at ear level made from
the mold in the cap's material directly inside the external cap.
Roll Block System:
Anatomic Roll Block: Component with variable outlines and
thicknesses, with an anatomic shape positioned at the height of the
nape. Made in Maxi Dry Gold inside and in wear-resistant material
outside.
Roll Block: Component made with Maxi Dry fabric having a constant
outline and thickness that is positioned at the height of the nape.
Note: Due to the weight of the
helmets, an additional shipping charge may occur. See
shipping information for details.
Briko's shipment for
2005 came in defective and they were all returned. There will be no ski
helmets available this season.
